This is a dress uniform of the regiment worn until 1914. The 9th Line Regiment distinguished itself in the First World War at the battle of Merksem on 17 April 1918. At first, Manneken-Pis wore this uniform on the day of the battle (17 April) to commemorate the victory. After the Second World War they honoured Manneken-Pis a second time.
