Costume presented to mark the opening of the State Fair of Texas, in which Belgium alone was officially allowed to participate as a foreign State. Mounted on horseback, cowboys tend herds of cattle in the American West. The donor, Stanley Marcus (1906-2002), was then the Director of the Neiman Marcus Store in Dallas, a department store that became a Texan legend. Originally a small family shop, it developed into a chain of high-end stores to be found throughout America.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
