A text dating from 1388 mentions a fountain located not far from where Manneken-Pis stands today. It was known as <em>Juliaenekens borre<\/em> (\u201cThe Fountain of Little Julian\u201d). Although we are now certain that these were two different fountains, they have long been confused with one another.
