The costume is the result of a participatory process involving several participants from different creative workshops. It consists of an aviator suit screen-printed with motifs that symbolise the municipality. The choice of an aviator suit to represent the Evere Municipality is a reference to the Evere airfield (on the border with Haren) which was created in 1914. In 1923, after Haren was annexed to Brussels, it became Brussels’ first airport and the headquarters of the Belgian airline "SABENA".
